AlphabetWoods_1500Take a walk in the Alphabet Woods, building trees with letters in alphabetical order. Kids put together the puzzle base and started adding their letter cards vertically until 7  made a completed tree. Play gets interesting when kids can play a “branch” letter which links 2 trunks but has to maintain alphabetical order. Letters don’t have to be the next one in the alphabet (although you can play multiple cards if it is a “run”) but must be a different letter that maintains alphabetical order. Collect a cute forest animal card for each card played and tally up at the end to see who wins with the most. A first grade teacher was anxious to take this to her classroom since they have been working on alphabetizing and kids loved building the woods. What a fun way to get your letters in order, working on sequencing and letter recognition.
