Janod’s Hat Boxed Puzzles are favorites with kids and adults as they come in such a cute round carrying case with the picture on the front. For language stimulation I always look for a scene that would invite lots of conversation and in this case comparisons. Each dragon is different by color, size, features and driver so when assembling the puzzle, you might call out that you’re looking for– the knight with the red and white striped shield or the dragon with orange curved horns. Critical thinking is required to make comparisons and assess differences. Putting together a puzzle is a nice family activity as everyone shares in looking for the blue tip of the dragon’s tail or a broken tether to hold down the dragon, Working on a section and then finding the connecting pieces to someone else’s work is satisfying and collaborative.
