Bedtime can be a challenge with our little bunnies. Excuses, excuses but knowing the routine and making it fun can help kids comply. Bunny Bedtime is a sweet, simple game designed for toddlers and parents to enjoy play together while learning many early concepts and skills. Moving left to right, you and your toddler can read each step, roll the die to advance to the correct color, making your way across the 5 activities–bathing, potty, pajamas, brushing teeth, and reading a book while filling in the blank with the correct shape. Each wooden puzzle shape has a choice on each side– duck/ boat toy, big/little potty, polka dot/striped pajamas, yellow/green toothbrush and butterfly/truck book. Do you want___or____? is the simplest question to ask a toddler to give them a choice, providing the words so they can feel confident in their answer. The last stop is get a big hug and kiss and “Goodnight, Bunny!” This starter game for your toddler gives parents plenty to talk about and teach as their child learns to look from left to right, match and name shapes and colors, learn bedtime vocabulary, follow a sequence in a story, take turns and perhaps create their own pretend story with the game board as a backdrop. Our kids loved the game, particularly making choices with the puzzle pieces. 4 year-old siblings loved to hear me read each picture and pause to let them fill in the blank and find the puzzle piece, “First I play with my toy___in the bathtub.” This toddler game might even help older siblings begin to read!
