As my little friend opened up the half circle case with a handle, both Mom and Dad went “Wow,” impressed with the take along feature and that their other Brio train pieces could be added to the ample storage compartment for play. As if right on cue, my little friend said, “I would take this to Dabby’s house!” He picked up on the travel feature as he was constructing the two downward track pieces and endings.  The case quickly became part of pretend play as he pointed to the storage area and said, “That’s the river so it has a crocodile.”  His train car has a bell inside for some fun as it rounded the track and went downhill. This compact set stimulates the imagination and creativity while building language skills as toddlers start their story telling to begin being authors as they imagine the setting and narrate their story.
