So many kids love to weave–girls AND boys! Having searched for a kid-friendly loom last Christmas at the request of my grandsons, I was glad to find one that made weaving fun. My little friend watched a video on how to set up the loom and then got right to work/play weaving with her tool over and under the rods as her piece lengthened. She slid the decorative silver rods down the rods to finish off her piece and excitedly showed it off to me as a blanket for her little baby doll! Weaving is a wonderful creative activity which also can be used to help kids build their fine motor skills for writing. Often parents have shared that their second and third graders need some help in their writing skills which inhibit them from being able to express themselves on paper. Finding fun activities for kids to strengthen skills is a win-win situation!
