Kids can become the robot AND the coder in Alex Brands’ new “Robot Races,” an active coding game. Start by personalizing your robot headpiece with stickers and googly eyes, choose a leveled instruction card and set up your grid like the card with a Start and Stop tile. Add orange Obstacle cards to avoid, and purple Robot cards for fun actions to perform–dance, spin, jump or pose. Start the timer and begin to construct your path with the Arrow cards to the finish. Stop the timer and challenge yourself to find a shorter, more efficient path. Up to three players makes this a collaborative game with players discussing options, revising and problem solving, all great skills to develop language learning.
