Hey, I grew up in Wisconsin so snow should be fun but enough is enough! In the Northeast we seem to have a big winter storm at least once a week. I wouldn’t mind it if I still worked in the schools and school was cancelled but as an itinerant therapist, I have to get up slippery driveways, down unplowed streets and up icy steps. Okay, I’m not complaining. I love being on the move. I don’t think I could stay in one place in an office all day so this style is perfect for me–it’s just days like today that are a bit challenging.

Kids with speech and language delays need consistent therapy which is hard with lots of cancellations. I am finding myself giving parents extra suggestions and things to work on in my absense. It’s good to have parents feel some of the responsibility for their child’s progress–and they appreciate the involvement.

Things are looking up. Tomorrow after the ice storm, it is supposed to rain so maybe I will get to see my little friends after all.
