Free Giveaway! “What’s In the Cat’s Hat Game?”

In honor of my friend, The Cat in the Hat,I am announcing this week’s giveaway is a terrific learning game, PAL Winner, “What’s In the Cat’s Hat?” by I Can Do That! Games. The Cat has left his hat behind with a little surprise inside.  It’s our job to guess what it is. Kids love being the Hat Master who selects a household item, hides it in the hat and waits for you to guess. Each turn you choose two cards to ask questions of the Master –Is it round? Does it come apart? or carry out a clue–Lift the hat by the brim, or Feel the hat with your elbows. Little flaps open on the hat to give a smell, a peek (you only see shadows), or a feel of the object hidden inside. A language building game of deduction, “What’s In the Cat’s Hat?” gives kids lots of practice combining information, asking questions and describing the hidden object.

To win, add a comment below telling me what you would hide inside the Cat’s Hat and why.  A winner will be chosen at random on this Thursday, 10/20/11.  In order to be eligible, you must live in the United States. To earn extra entries, you can do the following:

  • leave multiple comments below
  • Tweet using the tweet button on my homepage and leave a comment that you did
  • Fans of my Playonwords Facebook page get an additional entry. If you are already a part of it, let me know in a comment below.
  • Let me know in a comment that you passed on the contest information to parents, friends or special education colleagues!

My kindergarteners would love this game. I think I would hide something school-related like a marker or a box of crayons. The novelty of the hat turns a ho-hum game into something fun.

I would put one of their shoes in it and have them try to guess which one since they have so many diff. designs. Looks like a fun game that turns out different everytime.

      Hi Meg,

That is a good question. I would go to The Wonder Forge website (the parent company) or their Facebook page and ask them that question. Good luck! I hope you can get them because they are the best games.
