The Step2 Cook & Care Corner Kitchen and Nursery is a perfect playtime addition for imagination, language, cognitive, and social-emotional growth. It features vintage looking appliances, tons of accessories, and even a built in high chair for your baby. Kids loved playing cooperatively or independently for hours, all while building important developmental skills.
Pretend play is a cornerstone of language development. As children imitate adult roles and actions, they experiment with vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure. The kitchen, laundry, and nursery settings provide a rich context for developing narrative skills. When describing actions, practicing conversations, and negotiating different roles, children learn to problem-solve and work together.
Imaginative play encourages empathy, cooperation, and role-playing. Children practice taking care of others, expressing emotions, and resolving conflicts. It’s a space to explore social interactions and develop emotional intelligence.
Our toy testers were very busy in the Cook & Care Kitchen and Nursery. They combined different tasks in play, including smoothie making, stirring, cooking, washing and hanging laundry, and of course caring for their baby. They practiced problem-solving skills and idea sharing, which fostered creativity and adaptability. They chatted and narrated along the way, using language to elevate their play. Some other highlights were the spinning lazy-susan, popping popcorn and noisy blender that certainly stimulated more sensory exploration.
The Cook & Care Corner Kitchen and Nursery truly does it all. With its space saving and vintage design, it’s an exceptional asset to your playroom to foster language, cognitive, and motor development. It’s a miniature world where children can learn, grow, and imagine.
