The Discover and Learn Scavenger Hunt is the perfect on-the-go learning game for building curiosity and vocabulary. Kids loved exploring the outdoors (and indoors) while making comparisons and connections about the world around them.
The game prompts children to search for and name real objects in their environment that correspond to various cards. The cards include descriptive categories and adjectives based on color, texture, pattern, shape, prompting kids to use adjectives like furry, sparkly, soft, rough, etc.
The Scavenger set encourages comparisons (“Which is more sparkly?”, “Is this softer than that?”), supporting the development of more complex adjective use and superlatives, which fosters higher-level vocabulary skills.
The touch-and-feel cards allow children to feel textures (furry, soft, etc.), so sensory feedback supports concrete understanding of adjectives and helps anchor abstract descriptive words. Our testers loved using a magnifying glass and observing patterns and attributes up close. It kept them engaged while supporting multi-sensory learning in indoor and outdoor environments as part of contextual learning
The World of Eric Carle Discover & Learn Scavenger Hunt is a strong, engaging tool for helping young children build their noun and adjective vocabulary, improve descriptive language, and strengthen observational and cognitive skills. Its multi-sensory design, portability, and flexibility for indoor/outdoor use make it a great opportunity for building language through modeling, questioning, and extension.
