Kids went right for the Pop-it Beads when they spotted them. My 2 year-old friend went to work taking them apart and snapping them together as we talked about colors and animals. A 3 year-old started the language lesson herself, saying “1-2-3” as she linked the animals into a long strand, calling out the colors and then sorting them by animal! Then the next stage of fun began as she took them apart, “I pop!!” These beads can be used for lots of language learning as kids learn colors, animals, and counting. I made a pattern, 2 blue + 2 red, for my friend to imitate, teaching pattern recognition, an early pre-literacy skill. But most of all, kids loved to snap their beads together to hold up the long string, that was almost as tall as they were.
