Look who is new to the Folkmanis Puppet lineup, a robot! This soft nuts and bolts,  sleepy-eyed robot with a big jaw, underbite and wheelie locomotion was endearing to my little 4 year-old friend. She slipped her hand right in and loved moving his jaw to talk with and “bite” others! She loved his means of transportation, a soft wheel to rotate. Folkmanis always adds fascinating facts or stories related to their puppet character. Don’t miss reading his tag telling the background based on a folk tale from India. According to the story, a little boy who collected “treasures” like nuts and bolts was inspired by a Robot Contest to create our little puppet character. His sister added the little heart patch for good luck and he won the contest. Often when I read the backstory to the puppets, kids use that to launch or add on to the story. Folkmanis puppets are an amazing resource for encouraging kids to talk, role-play and converse with others, building confidence and essential language skills.
