As we know, a toddler can be a mighty mini band all by himself in the pots and pans drawer so why not give him the proper equipment? Hape’s band includes a drum, xylophone, cymbal, scratch board, clapper and two sticks. Musical instruments are great learning toys as kids listen, copy and repeat beats and sounds, building their listening skills, and sequencing, as they experiment with the different instruments on this board. Research shows that the processing of music and language depend on some of the same brain systems. Certainly kids learn strings of language through songs and often in my speech therapy practice, children were able to express themselves in longer phrases because of songs. This Mighty Mini Band introduces kids to the joy of making their own music, inventing the beat and listening to differences in the instruments. What a fun way to grow and learn.
