Brio’s new Builder Record & Play Set beautifully pairs STEM construction with Language overlay when kids make an airplane, robot or whatever and record conversation or sound effects. The wonderfully integrated universal attachment system was impressive to parents with, grey pegs at the heart of the building that allow the attachment of wheels, decoration, accessories, facial features and body parts. With such a variety of components, kids’ designs are limited only by their imagination, adding movement and integrating a little electronics to give their project personality. The minimalist directions encourage creativity. There are no step by step instructions, simply three pictured possible options to build–an airplane, robot and animal. Kids have 30 seconds to record their message which is easy to hear and modify during play. What a terrific build and pretend play activity to stimulate creativity and language development.
