My little 2 year-old would not let go of her maracas! As she shook the traditional style maraca, I noticed her body started to move to the rhythm and her mom said, “She loves music!” She explored the electronic maraca and was delighted to discover the buttons to light up the dome light in red, purple, orange, yellow, green or blue. Colors, numbers and music are assessed through three modes whose content can be added to with a shake of the maraca to the beat. Push the color buttons to hear colors named, instruments named and played, counting associated with a child’s shake of the maraca, and musical selections to shake to the beat. Even when we moved on to other toys, my little friend held fast to her maracas which were very special! Kids can listen to directions, dialogue and songs in both English and Spanish so language learning is multiplied.
