Puzzles are the craze these days from preschoolers to adults. Little ones like big pieces to connect and fun engaging designs to give them plenty to talk about while searching for and connecting the pieces. The Learning Journey International has always brought us heavy duty play materials as I’ve relied on them through out my years of doing speech therapy with kids. Their newest big floor puzzle toddlers is this delightful mermaid. Parents can come along side and narrate colors, body parts and positions words as a child puts the puzzle together. “I’m looking for a piece with yellow hair. Oh it goes on top/above her face.” or “She has a heart necklace around her neck.” Describing what your child is doing, engaged in helps build her language skills. Puzzles are also great for building fine motor and spacial skills to prepare preschoolers for academics,  writing and reading.
