Hey Hey Relay by UltraPro is a fast paced, energetic, team game where players race to compete in a series of exciting challenges. They practice movement, following directions and understanding language and vocabulary, through listening and reading challenge cards. Designed to get everyone moving and thinking, the game emphasizes collaboration while still embracing some competition.
Players split into 2 teams and each claim one side of the game board. Each player on each team takes a turn rolling the dice to advance their character up (and then back down) the game board. The first one to get to the finish line wins!
However, if your roll matches a the character directly in front of your space, teams must take on a challenge (and there were many challenges taken during game play!). Movement challenges included “Pretend to hula hoop 5X,” “Everyone spin around like a ballerina” “Pretend to take 5 free throw shots,” and so many more. There were also some brainy challenges too that practiced naming and word-retrieval, like “Everyone name a country that’s not your home country,” “Name a singer” and “Tell your favorite cookie.”
The team’s success depends on clear communication, cooperation, and encouragement within the team. This dynamic fosters social skills as players learn to listen to each other, assign roles, and support their teammates. It also builds a sense of unity and shared achievement, which can boost confidence and interpersonal skills.
