LeapFrog has extended the learning from its popular system, LeapStart. Now kids 4-8 years can go beyond the basics and add video content to the learning. My first grade friends loved the new LeapStart Go as we explored “The Human Body” Activity Set, with facts, body systems, health and nutrition. One friend unfolded the double sided activity board with 25 re-playable activities. He touched the stylus to different organs inside the body, “The heart pumps blood around your body to deliver oxygen,” as the video illustrated the blood flowing to and from the heart in read and blue. My friend was mesmerized by the videos as he touched the brain, liver, small intestine and pancreas. “Fact finder” by the numbers asked the player to touch any body part and gave a fact of comparison, “Did you know that you breathe in and out about 20-25 times a  minute? Try it yourself,  Look and a clock and count how many breaths you take in a minute.” Show What You Know!” gives directions related to the content such as “Find the body part that removes water from food.” The extent of the content is amazing as kids learn about organs, digestive, muscular, nervous, respiratory and circulatory systems. all through interactive discovery. Also included is an growth chart with stickers to mark milestones. Kids also get a chance to practice reading that reinforces the curriculum. Thanks to LeapFrog, the learning fun continues!
