Get ready for a spicy dose of learning and fun. Nacho Pepper is a cognitive workout disguised as entertainment. Designed for 2-6 players, it’s a fast paced matching game where players practice quick decision making, strategy, and peppery conversation.
Squishy peppers are placed in the center of the playing area. The deck is dealt as evenly as possible amongst players. Each player holds 4 cards in their hand at a time, in search of 4 of a kind. Players must quickly identify matching pepper cards, passing along discarded nacho cards around the playing circle.
This encourages strategic thinking and attention skills. Once a player has 4 of a kind in hand, they must put down their matches face up and grab a squishy pepper. The last player to grab a pepper loses the round and earns a letter from the word NACHO. The first time you don’t get a pepper, you score an N; the second time, you score an A and so on until a player has spelled the word NACHO.
Players must be attentive to grab a pepper (even if their cards don’t match) and practice problem-solving and planning when trying to build a 4 of a kind hand. This decision-making process is crucial for developing executive functions, which assist with academic success and everyday life.
A clever play on words, had our game testers laughing as they tried to match Sarah Serrano, Anna Banana, Belle Pepper, Ted Basco, and Holly Peño. Nacho Pepper is primarily a visual, quick-thinking game, and is a fantastic tool for cognitive development. It’s engaging, fast-paced, and packed with learning opportunities.
