The bathtub has always been a great venue for pretend play so now add a little barber to the mix with Alex’s floating mirror to grab and stick to the wall for a haircut or shave. Bubble baths preferred for the shaving as kids wind up the razor for a realistic sound to add to the play. Kids add to their language bank as they imitate everyday experiences, using phrases, vocabulary, and descriptions associated with the activity, in this case going to the barber. Some kids are a bit afraid of getting their hair cut so this kit might serve the purpose of desensitizing the experience through play. Talking through the situation and feeling in charge, helps kids conquer fears.
