Don’t threaten this Frilled Lizard or he might stand up to you, hiss and fan his pleated collar forward and back with a squeeze of your fingers. Kids really enjoyed standing this lizard up with his funky stance as they acted out some of the “Facts of Interest” that Folkmanis includes to spark imaginations and story telling. This tree-dwelling lizard lives in Australia and New Guinea and can get threatened, spreading out his frills to scare away a predator, OR maybe he is using this move to regulate his body temperature. So much to learn and incorporate in your story as kids build language skills to further prepare for reading and writing through puppet fun!
