VTech’s Baby line has created the Lil’ Critters Soothing Starlight Polar Bear, a sweet, cuddly bear that acts as a nightlight, sound machine, and music box all in one.
The Soothing Starlight Polar Bear features four different modes. The story time mode tells familiar nursery rhymes with some music in between verses. Music mode sings songs and plays slow and sweet instrumental music with recognizable sounds and tunes. Soothing sounds is great for nap and sleep time as it plays calming nature sounds such as ocean waves or raindrops, great for white noise to help baby fall and stay asleep. The last mode is music and sounds, which includes a mixture of 30 melodies as nature sounds play in the background. An off timer can be set for each mode (15, 30, or 45 minutes) and the Polar Bear’s back also projects starry lights on the ceiling in different colors to act as a nightlight.
Toddler toy testers also loved the Starlight Polar Bear. The soft plush features allowed for some pretend play as everyone prepared for sleep, putting on pajamas and carrying Starlight into the bathroom for some necessary teeth brushing too. Our toddler toy tester nestled Starlight right under his arm as lights shone brightly and eventually gave him his own bed on the nightstand before sleep.
Intended for all ages, Lil’ Critters Soothing Starlight Polar Bear is a great toy for soothing baby at sleep time with nature sounds and music and helping with bedtime routines and acting as a nightlight for the older kids.
