Splash implies spontaneity and experimentation which is exactly what this easel is for. My mom/first grade teacher friend exclaimed, “I know I like this already” as I opened it up. Kids have two sides on which to draw their story or write their message–on the dry erase board or chalk board, as well as the pull down roll of paper. Each side has the alphabet across the top, encouraging little writers to add some dialogue to their drawing. Older kids have drawn cartoons with conversation bubbles while younger ones can just practice their letters and inventive spelling. Conversation ensues while kids are working and peek around to their friend on the other side to see how things are progressing. A good sized tray holds the paint containers, eraser, dry erase pen, chalk and magnetic colored circles included in this set. The adjustable legs were a welcome feature to teachers and parents as this easel could be used on the table or in a smaller space when the legs are shortened.
