I’m really excited about Janod’s new “Mini Story” sets that I first saw at the International Toy Fair in New York City. Janod knows what goes into rich storytelling with its themed mini-boxes of accessories–characters, animals and vehicles. Mini Story Safari has 8 pieces but they can take the story in many directions, just add a child’s imagination!
A safari jeep attaches magnetically to the wooden wagon for transporting any of the animals–alligator, elephant, giraffe, or zebra, or the two safari people. Kids bring their story to life with added props from the playroom or outside (a little hay or grass) or a box for their sleeping quarters. Pretend play and storytelling build language skills for later reading and writing as little ones are inspired by the props. These mini story sets would make great birthday presents or easily transportable therapy materials for therapists and teachers.
