Pull up to the table and start stacking your burger and fixins–pickles, tomatoes, bacon, cheese, lettuce and buns–all on top of a wobbly plate. Players take turns rolling the die to see how many pieces they add to the bottom bun. As the burger gets higher, the stack starts to sway so be careful to place your item carefully. Kids figured out that the bumpy lettuce was less steady than the flat slice of cheese, but as they got to the end of the 12 fixins, it was only a matter of time before the stack toppled. Such a simple balancing game brought lots of laughter and suspense as kids tried to go “undefeated.” Games are always fun when they involve items for pretend play. Who doesn’t want to cram more goodies onto his burger and take a bite?
