The perfect game for summer dreamers, ice cream lovers, and counting! With a Cherry on Top is a fun math and early strategy game for ages 3 and up. Players roll the die and match the number rolled to the ice cream scoops on 8 different banana split cards. When a player finishes the banana split, or puts the last scoop on the banana split, they can put a cherry on top and keep the card.
Kids loved choosing different ice cream flavors and especially loved the scratch and sniff cherries! This game practiced early math concepts such as number recognition, one-to-one number correspondence and counting and early decision making and strategizing.
This game can also be modified to add more language and math learning. As players took turns, we practiced using different synonyms for add (e.g. plus, all together) and subtract (e.g how many more, how many left). Kids were learning about simple addition and subtraction and having fun!
